Julia Mosquera
Julia Mosquera is a researcher in philosophy at the Institute for Futures Studies (IFFS). She completed her PhD in philosophy at the University of Reading in 2017 with a thesis titled “Disability, Equality, and Future Generations”.
At IFFS, Julia works on two research projects. Within the project Climate Ethics and Future Generations she focuses on questions related to population change, the evaluation of new experiences and how to make decisions about them, and the effects of climate change on non-human animals. Within Climate Emotions and Affective Dilemmas she investigates the norms surrounding the affective attitudes that climate change generates.
At Mimir, Julia will continue her research on animal ethics with special focus on the human-animal relations that affect the long-term future. For example, she will contribute to the development of a population ethics for non-human animals that can be of use to evaluate both climate change and other long-term scenarios.
