Artificial intelligence and singularity: online lecture by Karim Jebari (1 November 2023)

The fear that the development of artificial general intelligence (AGI) and artificial super intelligence (ASI) will lead to the destruction of humanity has been expressed by researchers including Max Tegmark and Nick Bostrom. This concern rests on some important assumptions which lack sufficient substantiation. In a lecture for Svenska statistikfrämjandet, an independent association for the promotion of statistical research and education, Karim Jebari explains these arguments and why they are improbable. The lecture was held in Swedish.
