Update from the EAGxNordics Conference 2024

How should wild animals’ welfare be measured? And what progress has been made in this area of research? These were the topics of Tim Campell’s talk at the Effective Altruism Nordics 2024 conference, which took place April 26-28 in Copenhagen. The talk featured, among other things, a presentation of a new estimate of the global population size of six fundamental taxonomic groups, as well as a discussion of the Rethink Priorities moral weights project. These were used together to make an approximation for how good or bad things could be in total for the taxonomic groups.

Tim also represented Mimir at the conference’s career fare, where those interested could learn more about what we do, or further discuss questions related to wild animal welfare.
