“Futurism has become conservative” - Karim Jebari at Vår Framtid 2023 (11 November 2023)

It is important not just to think about the future, but also to reflect critically about how we think about the future. It reveals something about ourselves, our dreas, goals and priorities. It also informs our political descicion-making.

20th century futurism often presented radical and sometimes progressive ideas about the future and how society should be organized. Contemporary futuristic ideas have become more modest and conservative; our visions of the future resemble our life today, just with different energy sources.
